A couple of weeks ago at a Suns basketball game

I've always thought she looked better with it very short.

I'm sure it's the lighting, but Cindy looks a lot older. She also looks less classy and dignified with the shorter hair, but if that's the way you like it...

I liked her hair fuller, with or without bangs. She used to wear it up more often than not and always made her husband look good.

I always had a feeling she only grew it out to look more first-wifey during her husband's presidential runs.

I like the short look -- seems a little less fake.

To me, Cindy's longer hair looked elegant, and had been an incredible improvement. Smile Bob

She sure has aged in recent years. Maybe something to do with her husband's political demise, first to Obama, now perhaps to a far right tea-bag guy in the Republican primary. McCain is getting defeated by the right and the left, poor old geezer.

Bang On! I called that same scenario back before the election. My timing was a bit off as I said she'd cut it short again within 6 months after the election, but I was right nonetheless.

Whoa...I understand that she's a political wife...and therefore basically public figure (like Megan Fox lol is...what a comparison hey?) but this thread is completely congested with political nuances...wtf?  Can we get back to "celebrity" hair without the political commentary.

As far as her looking less fakey...like Klaatu said....well yes Klaatu, she's no different than any of the political wives.  She's just like the majority of the women in the '08 race.  Most fo them, from Cindy McCain to Jill Jacob (Biden's wife) dyed their hair.  Hell, viewers never saw Dennis Kucinich because the camera was on Elizabeth Kucinich (and her ridiculously lovely red mane...I believe her's is natural?) every time Kucinich opened his mouth.

So I'm just asking if we could tone down the "real world" (no pun again) politics and avoid the political under tones?

If political undertones affect the way hair is presented then there is no need to avoid them here: though if it becomes overtly political, there is another section for it elsewhere on the board.

fatmoogas - I didn't really get the first half of your statement.  If political undertones affect hair on the celebrity section, then wouldn't that be a cue that the posts are politicized and belong in the political section? Which, btw, I had completely forgotten about.

Maybe I should clarify: the comments I take issue with are (1) Klaatu's "first wifey...during presidential run" and (2) AngelaTS's "husband's political demise... to a far right tea-bag guy".  Frankly, neither comment was directly related to her hair.   The posts may have been about her haircut but those comments weren't.

So you are calling McCain a geezer, and his opponent J.D. Hayworth a closet gay. What does this have to do with Cindy McCain's hairstyle? Confused Bob

You may be right, Fat. It's quite possible that Cindy McCain grew her hair ONLY to cast a softer, feminine image for her husband's campaign. I remember after Sonny Bono died and his wife Mary assumed his seat in Congress, her long, blonde "Valley Girl" hair was ridiculed. Virtually the next day, Mary's hair was brown and chopped to nearly a Jamie Leigh Curtis crop. She became "serious" overnight! Star Bob
