Hello guys,
 
Ive never posted on here before but here goes. My boyfriend is always going on about how much he likes my hair and that I should wear things in it more often. I was thinking about ribbons - they're pretty and girly ok but also I think if worn in the right way they can be subtly quite sexy. I have long wavy and thick dark brown hair down to the bottom of my shoulder blades so it's ideal for wearing up etc.
 
Anyway I just wondered if anyone on here had any good ideas - or even pics - of hairdos involving ribbons that look pretty and can be worn day to day.

I've never tried ribbons because I don't have any. But reading this made me think of one of my favorite braiding sites. It has a section called ribbons and semi-period. I don't think of these styles as sexy though...

Most of those might be too hard for a beginner to do, but I bet there's a way to add ribbons to basic braids too. Maybe do a pony tail and have the end of a ribbon tied into it as well. Then do a braid, while keeping the ribbon with one of the three strands, and tie that off at the end, making sure the other end of the ribbon is long enough to get tied off too.
 
Also, you could kind of use a ribbon as a head band. Bring the middle of the ribbon under the hair and by the nape of the neck, so your holding both ends above your head. Then tie it on top of your head. The hair will still be down, but will stay back and out of your face, if you have problems with that.
 
I can't think of anything sexy though. Sorry. :( Maybe the headband one can be if you use a very thin ribbon.

I love doing French braids for ladies with ribbon laced thru the braid. Try it

I am a guy of 26 - my girlfriend is a hairdresser and she frequently wears her long blonde hair in a low ponytail with a ribbon. I think a silk bow is very pretty and elegant.
 
As I have long hair myself, my girlfriend occasionally seems to enjoy tying her ribbons in my hair, now I'm not sure that looks so pretty, but anyway that's another story. On a girl with pretty hair, you can't go wrong

Hi Jowa, I know I'm late in replying but I thought I'd add my .02. I was a cheerleader in high school and I had to wear these big blue & white bows in my hair. I thought it was pretty queer back then, but after college I started wearing ribbons again occasionally. I dunno, there's something fun & sexy about a high ponytail with a bow. I've probably got 2 dozen ribbons in colors to match my outfits. I do it in a cute cheerleader style pony, or I'll tie my hair (bra-length) in a loose ponytail with a ribbon down low. My husband has long gorgeous hair , just at his shoulders, and sometimes for fun I'll even put a blue or black bow on his ponytail! There's a lot you can do once you get creative with ribbons and I think it's too bad that not many women (or guys) wear them anymore.
