Does anyone have any preferences for the type of neckline in clothing to wear for different lengths of hair? I feel that lower necklines look better with shorter hair and higher necklines (turtlenecks, etc) look better with long hair; although long hair looks good with just about anything. I've never really liked it when hair that is just growing out barely touches a turtleneck. So, this is just an opinion question to see what everybody thinks looks good.

Generally, I feel that lower necklines look better no matter what, as they are flattering for most body types. That said, turtlenecks do look good with longer hair, while boatnecks can look nice with shorter hair or updos. And I just do not like crewnecks. Period. But that's just my own silly little pet peeve. I find that camisoles and strapless tops are very flattering on certain body types, regardless of hairstyle. Okay, taking the rest of my senseless rambling to Passion for Fashion, I think.

Monica: Isn't there any way that you could look at this as flattering? I mean, she's doing this to be more like you.
Rachel: Well, then, couldn't she have just copied my haircut?

Hi Grace,
I agree with you on the crew necks. I don't like them, either. To me it always looks as if someone just stuck someone's head on their shoulders!

I don't like to see necklines so low it looks like the woman's about to pop out of them-- it's just exploitation, I think :-P . But moderately low necklines look all right.
I've been told the thing about lower necklines working best with short hair, but I couldn't follow it even if I wanted, because I have a really embarrassing scar at the front base of my neck. It's scoop-shaped, red, and has been compared to a hickey, so I'm very embarrassed of it. Even covering it up with make-up doesn't help, because it still is visibly indented. So until I can find money and opportunity to have something done to fix it surgically or whatever, I'm stuck wearing everything with a high neckline.
