Hey, I've had undercuts for about 6 months now, and I'm really loving them. My hair has always been an annoyance, so having hair that's easy to handle and care for is really nice. However, I would like some ideas of how to tie it up nicely. Everything I've found through random online hunting is for much shorter hair. I have shoulder-length hair and very high undercuts on each side (http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/yy128/eveolene/P1010627.png?t=1284047660).
I usually just back comb it in sections, tie up the top layer and leave the rest hanging down, but I'm starting a course working with animals and I will have to have it completely tied up all the time. Just putting it in a ponytail is very dull and doesn't look particularly good, but I don't want to cut it too short because I need to be able to wear it down as well for formal occasions. I have considered cutting it to cheek-length, but my hair is quite thin, so I'm not sure it would cover the undercuts enough. Additionally, I would have to rely on my boyfriend to cut it for me (since I don't really have time for a hairdresser), and while I trust him to trim my hair and re-shave my undercuts, I'm not sure he'd feel comfortable cutting my hair that short.
Anyway, I'd just like a new way of styling it and tying it back or some general suggestions on what else I could do. Back-combing does take a ridiculous amount of time with hair this long, and I'm not really a fan of spending hours in front of the mirror in the morning.
