I like a nice ballerina bun when I don't want to be bothered with my hair, especially in frizz weather. Two scrunchies do the job nicely (one high ponytail in the back, secured with a scrunchie, then twist it into a bun, secure with scrunchie #2). A little gel will smooth down any hairs that are sticking out on the top and sides. Unless you have short layers, then clips are in order.

The "cool" thing to do in high school for camping trips was to put your hair in small braids all over your head--not the miniscule ones, mind you, but enough that you (in theory) wouldn't have to wash your hair for several days. I always went with just a simple ponytail.

I remember that Lyris.
I am a veteran of 10+ years of Girl Scout camp. Wearing a bandanna scarf-like over your head/hair is so cute!
Two side braids country-girl-style is great too!
Both styles last all day, don't have to futz with em when your hands are all camp dirty! Actually, the bandanna style is kind of a bonus, because it prevents you from getting dirt in your hair, if you have the habit of touching it, like me.
Have fun! Wish I were going!
Oh wait, I just see you said no pig tails. D'oh!
