Hi, I get foil highlights (medium brown to blonde) every 6 weeks.  The last time I got them, I sat for over 50 minutes waiting to process while my stylist took another client.  I wasn't under lights or a dryer.

Other times, I have processed within 15 minutes, 30, etc.   The deal is that my stylist usually takes other clients while I process, which I believe leaves me waiting for longer than necessary to attain the proper level.

So my question is:  for brown to blonde foil highlights, using Redken, what is a reasonable expectation in terms of necessary processing time?  I don't mind 15 minutes, but waiting almost an hour seems really unnecessary except to accommodate my stylist's method of scheduling clients.  But I want to be reasonable with my stylist when I discuss this.

Thanks!

If it gets as light as you want when she puts the same stuff on it for 15 minutes, then you must not need longer. I guess it depends on if she's using the same stuff each time. (I'm not a pro so I can't give you a strict guideline... if I were doing it I'd just do it by test strand trial and error until I got used to what a certain formulation does on my hair type).
