can anyone please help me in how to go from a platinum blonde to a darker blonde?  I did a online chat with clairol and they told me I needed to go to a professional as i needed to add pigment to my hair.....i really would rather do myself so if anyone has answers i would appreciate :)

ok...I colored my hair tonight on my own and now i have orangish roots from my grow out which is a dark reddish blonde
 and the rest is really blonde....any suggestions on how to get an even over all darker blonde???? I am going to walmart to get another color so any help would be appreciated : ) thank you
