My dentist told me of a study that was conducted with 6,700 adults.  The study found that people who consumed levels about the recommended daily allowance of 400 IU were 20 percent less likely to bleed ruing a dental exam then those that didn't.  D is known to have anti-inflammatory properties.  Sunshine is the best source of Vitamin D but it can be taken as a supplement.
