I'm 26 and my GF whom I live with is 30.  We get along great and I love my GF but over the holidays we had to spend a lot of time with her parents and they, esp her mom, was giving me the bridal banter thing.  At one point my GF's mom pulled me aside and asked what my plans were.  I told her I wasn't ready to go to the next level yet and even if I was, I didn't have the funds for a ring.
 
My GF's mom then offered me her mom's diamond ring and said I could have it if I proposed.  WTF?
 
I was uncomfortable the rest of the Christmas holidays and want to avoid the GF's family from now on.
 
What is the best way to deal with this crappy pressure?  Any advice?
