How to get Tom Cruise's hairstyle from "The Last Samurai" from a buzz cut?
8 weeks ago I buzzed my hair with a number 4 guard all over and I'm wanting to grow my hair out just like he had it in that movie. This question is mainly for hair stylist or people that have gone for the same look from a buzzed haircut. Do I just let it grow for a couple years then get it trimmed? Do I trim my hair in a straight line across the bottom of my neck line every so often until I get more length on the top? I'm trying to get very detailed instructions on how to go about getting this look. I know I'll be going through an awkward in between stage and that's okay because I can where a hat on my job anyway to cover the mess. Just looking for the steps on doing this. If anyone knows of a website out there that gives detailed instructions on how men can do this please let me know. I'm 33 years old and I have thick brown hair that's mainly straight with a little wave like what he has.
Here is a picture of him and the hairstyle I'm wanting to achieve: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,534442,00.html
