One of the cutest updos I can think of is having 2 buns instead of one, one on each side of the head. Either Princess Leia style (not many of those around!) or one above each ear like bear ears, or two lower at the back closer to each other. This latter version is particularly interesting, for the effect is similar to having just one bun, but is easier to see from the front/half profile. Who else likes two buns?

The ones put on top of the head like ears can be cute, but Princess Leia ones just look strange to me.

I've always dreamed of having hair long enough to do a full odango and still have the ends reach my tailbone... much like Sailor Moon, strange as that sounds. It'd take up to three times my current length though.

I like wearing them low and close together in the back. They are very comfortable. They look nice braided, too

Yes, Snow White. That's what I meant - close together and low, looks great.
Anais, are you growing your hair out?

Hi Duke,
Yes, I am growing my hair out. Currently it's about mid-back, but my hair goal is hip length. The odango thing, though, is just a fun hair fantasy... I don't plan on going for that length : )

I like women with two buns. Or three... or four.

I'm very fond of two buns. When my hair was down to mid back, I'd twist them up high on the back of my head (a la Sailor Moon) and secure them with hair bands. If you're feeling wild, let the ends stick up for a modified updo.
My hair is currently just above shoulder length and very layered, so I use two of those little claw clips and make two low buns on the back of my head. If anything, they're just comfortable and different. ;)

I have a friend who did her hair up in two little heart-shaped buns, but I have no idea how she did it. I can't even think about how that would be tied to stay heart-shaped, without being wrapped around some kind of form. *mind boggled*

funny...
anyway, i like the two buns style but i do them with sock donuts. i put my hair in a soft ponytail holder and wrap my hair around the circle shaped sock "donut" and voila "princess leia" buns. i wore that to work one day and a guy on the bus actually called me princes leia ::corny:: but i like the style so whatever.

Most people just recognise the Sailor Moon Odango :D You don't have to have hair that long, or a fringe/bangs for it.
Odango is basically anyway of putting the hair up into a ball. I saw a guide for doing it before.

I used to do that, and I would spike my bangs downward. It drove my mother crazy.
