President Obama and Prince William are both in the hair spotlight now.  Although the 28 year old Prince is living the life right now, his shrinking hairline is getting him lots of mean headlines in Britain.

Articles about Prince William's baldness are questioning if he decided to marry because his hair is running out.  Can that be really true?

The days of men looking more distinguished as they age is gone.  Men are worrying about their hair, their skin and all the same things women used to worry about.

There are an estimated 80 million Americans losing their hair.  Experts say single men worry hair loss will make them less desirable.

Also in the news are questions about whether or not President Obama has taken to dying his hair to eliminate his gray strands which showed up after his election to The White House.

For better or worse, men are now feeling the same pressures that women have felt for decades.  An explosion of men's magazines is driving home the image of a perfectly sculpted body topped by a full head of hair. Men are spending $1 billion a year on hair growth products alone.

Women are also making gains in earning power, improving their wages by 28 percent compared to men in the last 30 years, meaning they can afford to be more pickey in choosing a partner.

Sociologists believe that as women have become more independent, they're looking to men in much the same way that men have historically looked to women and are much pickier about body weight, hair, skin and fashion.

The 1950's image of a woman desperate to find a man is gone.  Now men are paying as much attention to their waistlines as their wallets.

Prince William has an advantage over most men.  He can cover up his bald spot with a variety of crowns.
