No. In the second huge pic I posted earlier, you can clearly see stray pieces from the updo.

 The story just shows a lack of research.
If it had beeen an actual new look, it would have been commented on in the Vogue article. It was not.

Sorry Kate is soooooooo big.
I wanted to show her hair but then I couldn't cut it down to size. If someone else knows how to size this down...please be my guest or tell me how.

Hi Hawg, I actually talked to a photog who shot her at the New York premiere of Mildred Pierce. He said her hair looked like it was pulled back but that the length was prob chin length. My question is why not just wear it down? Does it look bad down? Her color has been changing a lot. For the British Vogue she had white blonde and for Mildred Pierce it was much darker, closer to her trademark blonde but then some photos just shot by Retna show her with a butter blonde. What the heck is going on with her hair anyway? Of course the changes could be related to the lighting so maybe its just that. ------------- |

| No doubt the answer is the obvious one: she went for a trendy bob, doesn't like it, and is now growing it out as quickly as possible. Of course, there are always extensions--but Kate doesn't strike me as someone who would want to be bothered with them. |

Whatever she cut, she must not like the result. It's been up since.
And it in no way is a"platinum pixie", as mentioned in the article link above.

This highlights an on-going pet peeve of web "news" stories about a celeb's new style that could be debunked with with a 5 second search on wireimage or gettyimages. Sure verifying a hairstyle isn't as critical as confirming WMDs, but if you are going to write the article, at least have the integrity to take a second to verify the facts. Excellent point. Since cover shoots are usually done anywhere from 4-6 months in advance, cutting Kate's hair and dying it platinum means that she had lots of time for her real hair to grow out long enough for extensions. Not to mention that Kate like many celebs, do wear extensions...as you pointed out....and wigs. Pita's assistant did say he cut Kate's actual hair for Vogue, not a wig. After Modern Salon confirmed it, I called his New York salon and talked to an assistant who said he cut her actual hair, not a wig. In some cases you would need to talk to a celeb's hair stylists on a daily basis to keep up with what's going on...was it cut, was it not cut, is it a wig, is it not a wig, extensions? Of course in some cases, the celeb doesn't want the media to know the true scoop about their hair. Ashlee Simpson never wanted her celeb hairstylists to confirm she was wearing extensions, even though she was and it was very obvious. Ditto for Geena Davis who didn't want anyone to know what was really happening with her hair. She had some hair loss issues due to chemical treatment incidents and the birth of her twins and she made her stylists promise not to tell the press what was the true scoop. In all fairness, sometimes a celeb uses multiple stylists in a short span of time so it's hard to get the true scoop and once you do, they've already changed their hair again. Which may explain in part why she was short in New York for Mildred Pierce and then long on The View. If nothing else, it keeps her name in the media just like Jessica Simpson who made it to Yahoo trending today because of her faux haircut. ------------- That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or drives you totally insane. :-) |

Hi James, I agree that she does not look like an assembly line Hollywood starlet or a Kardashian. Such a relief. She is amazing in Mildred Pierce but who would have expected anything else? I also like that she resisted dieting herself into oblivion when the critics said she was too heavy. I look forward to seeing her next hair transition. Hair is so short right now that maybe she will remain on the shorter side. But then who really knows.
