Unfortunately, the film goddess died after nearly reaching the age of a century old.

She never bought into the "here today, gone tomorrow" short hair disasters.

She was a class act until the day she died. Including her hair. She never grew old, only more mature and wise.

It's extremely easy to cut off your hair. It's not so easy to take care of your hair and allow it to grow.

Class acts are few and far between. Let us not fall victim to the whims of greedy haircutters and magazine cover girls (who later have to run to put in extensions to retrieve their essences...).

Few dare to allow their hair to grow long and must endure the jealous torments of short hairs who insist that short hair is "modern," "sexy", and "cute."

"Long hair" far surpasses those claims. Most will never admit that they don't have the gumption it takes to cultivate real beauty, class, and sexuality.

Enjoyed your post! Never thought of it taking "guts" or "class" so thanks! :)

Many times have I heard/endured excuses, given voluntarily, as to why they couldn't grow their hair long.

I not only admired her for her fine acting ability, but for the reasons you state as well. Like Jessica Tandy, she never caved to the pressure to cut or color her hair.
