Hello, I have 2 questions. To start, I have shoulder length dark blonde, pretty straight hair. I want to get something done before school starts, to try something new. I am worried though because I have kind of a wide, round head and I'm afraid getting a perm would make it look bigger. Would it? And also, I dont want it curly but I dont want it to not be noticable, maybe find a picture and post it? Thanks!

I'm definitely not an expert, but I had my hair permed several years ago, a spiral perm to be exact, and I have a round face. It looked good but I didn't like the upkeep (you still have to style your hair when it's permed, which you may already know, but I didn't when I had mine done). But, that's me and different styles work on different people so no two round faced people will look the same with the same haircut/style. That being said, I'm fairly certain there are different size curling rods that they use in perming so you might be able to get a noticable look without going for the tight ringlets of a spiral perm which tends to overemphasize a round face. I suggest soft waves (not just waves to create body, but actually wavy hair that is still in fashion lately). I have found that stick straight hair and overly curly hair can draw a lot of attention to your face and maybe over accentuate it's shape (round, long, etc...), so I would think some carefully done waves would look good. And remember, not everyone's hair takes to a perm. You don't always get the results you want, plus it can be fairly damaging considering that even the gentlest perms are strong enough to change the texture of you hair, so make sure you talk this through with your stylist.
