I've been wanting to dye my hair a blonde color FOREVER! But every time I tried it came out a color I didn't want! So, I just decided to grow it out and then try again since I had previously dyed my hair all sorts of colors! Box dye included, ew! My hair is now medium brown, which is my natural color.

http://media.onsugar.com/files/2011/05/20/1/1662/16625945/f7/nicky_hilton_hairstyle1294023712.jpg - This is the color I would like to get.

I go to Sally's beauty supply often, and I will be dying my hair myself. Maybe if y'all could suggest to me products they have then I could use them? I'm not sure how to get this color!

Please, and thank you all so much. :)

This color is VERY ashy. It's also much lighter than yours. You'll want to get a Blue or violet toned blonde (about a medium, check the color swatches at sally's) and probably a toner for after. I'd print off this (or a zoomed in of her hair to compare) and ask the girls at Sally's. I don't know if it is a requirement for sally's, but at mine every one there has been a hair stylist before and knows all about dying hair. I'd also consider getting violet shampoo, as lightened hair has a tendency to turn yellow over time too.

You may want to consider doing a dark blonde instead. Many professionals recommend going no more than 2 shades lighter if you're doing it at home. I've broken this rule a lot, but since you have darker hair than me and you're having some bad experiencing with it- a dark blonde may be a safer bet.

Also, This particular picture is done on brown hair using a lot of highlights. (so a dark blonde may hit the overall tone a bit closer anyways) Overall color may not come out exactly to the picture, but you should get pretty close if you make an effort to prevent it turning brassy.
