So I decided to just go to the salon to have my golden blonde highlights covered for an all-over, rich, chocolate-y brown shade. Except the stylist goofed, majorly. My hair is so, so, so, dark. It's the darkest brown you could get without being black. In some lighting, it does look like a bad wig/rockstar black. I was wondering if you knew of anything I could do to help lighten it? Should I risk putting in a very few amount of highlights at home? Or go to the salon? Or would it be a waste to go the salon; can you even do anything to hair this dark?
Thanks again :)

Wash your hair with Tide. It may take some of the color out for you. Condition after though.

Use a professional clarifying shampoo! Redken, Paul Mitchell, etc. This will strip some of the color out without doing damage to your hair. Don't use more than twice a week or you will dry your hair out considerably and make sure to condition after :)
