OK, the best place to see gumby hair is with black girl that has straight hair. (not relaxed, just straight) Like if she's wearing a scrunchy, then takes it out, her hair stays that way, like a gumby toy would. Does any1 know what im talking about or are u in the middle of calling the "hospital" on me??

LMAO yeah I know the "gumby" look LOL I've seen it happen to people who put their hair up wet and leave it up til it drives, which can sometimes take hours, and when they let their hair loose it tends to look very similar to that LOL

You mean with that bump in their hair, right? Because if you do, just put some water or a styling product in your hair, then put it in a scrunchie. Your hair usually doesn't have to be completly soaked, just damp.

Some people even end up with that bump without putting anything in it. Same with waves after braiding. I hope that was what you were looking for. If not, sorry.

yeah i was kinda getting that when i tied up my wet hair and let it dry. The problem is, where the little ponytail is, it gets all curly, is there any way i can keep that part uncurly?? Also can i like blowdry the hair for faster results, or will it lose its gumbiness?? lol

Also when i do the wet thing, it still wont stay if say i put it in a ponytail, know what i mean?? Like in a black girls case, when she takes the scrunchie out, the hair sticks back like it was when the scrunchie was on.....true gumbosity

I'm just guessing here but I think it happens to black girls w/ straighten hair is b/c the hairs are over processed. The structure has been chemically changed so much that it's course and not very manageable.

I'm getting that you're not really talking about what happens when you just put your hair up and then take it down and there's a wave/"bump"/kink at the area where the band was.

You want to be able to slick your hair back, put a band in for a bit, but then take it out and have the hair in the ponytail stick straight, still slicked back, and keep the shape of the ponytail minus the band.

Unless you have course hair that you want to chemically process until it's very damaged I don't think you'll be able to pull that off.

Do you mean "Gumby" as in... the green guy with the horse? The horse named Pickle and the blue blob named Goo?
