Hi all,

my hair is roughly shoulder length, fairly straight. It was growing at the same length until about 6 months ago when i noticed that the front inch or so seemed to be slowing down. When I last had it trimmed I just had the back done to let it "catch up" but this didn't seem to work and it's stayed at about the end of my nose.

Any ideas why this could be happening?

M

Hello Aaargh!,

Your hair must be like mine.. my bangs/fringe doesn't grow very fast. In fact, I've noticed unusally-little bangs growth in the past six months. Sometimes it's just a genetic thing, some hair having a shorter "terminal length" or maximum length than the back.

Not what you want to hear perhaps, but I hope this helped.

Hi just a suggestion.

You might need to have your Thyroid levels checked, and I mean all of them, not just your TSH.

Thyroid problems play more of a part than anything on hair loss and hair breakage unless you damage your hair with perms and such, or overcoloring.

Just a suggestion also, get some good virgin coconut oil it helps our skin from being dry, helps your hair, and helps your Thyroid work well also.
Helps ones body convert the T4 to T3, which we all need our Thyroid to work well.

I know I lost my Thyroid in 1997, (I was hyperthyroid) the Thyroid plays a major part in hair problems.

I have lost and grown back my hair several times and if my Thyroid levels get out of sync, my hair is the first thing that suffers.
