I had a consultation for a haircut today. I haven't had a real style in a long time, right now it's just long and straight and I told her she could do whatever. I have a vague idea of what the cut would look like, but I'd love to get a better idea of what I'm getting myself into (ie, any online pics etc) before I actually go for the cut next week.
Here's what I remember from the discussion (very little, of course). I remember her calling it a "new style" that's out right now and/or referring to it as being somewhat trendy.. talking about how much she would need to cut off, she showed me a piece at the front that she would need to be about to my shoulders (so I couldn't do locks for love).
I remember her saying something about it being maybe shorter in the back and underneath or something... but longer in the front and/or on top. Something about.. I could also straighten it (but that wasn't the intended style). Yeah, I obviously didn't get a lot out of that description, the more I reflected on it :)
I know it's not going to be short, because I've never had it above my shoudlers before and she mentioned not wanting to go short straight from long hair.
At the time I pictured one of those sort of flip-styled bobs that are trendy now, but after looking at some pics those seem to be all one length or layered shorter on top. After looking at a hairstyle mag, it sounds more like a longish-version of one of those inverted bobs - like where it's maybe close to the hairline in the back, but then comes longer in the front. It sounds like that hairstyle is a good fit for me (for slightly wavy, finer hair, and rounder faces).
Love to hear what you think. Any other possibilities about what haircut she could be describing that's new/trendy and fits the minimal description I can recollect??

I know some people don't want the responsibility of choosing their new hairstyle and would rather leave it all to their stylist.
If you really want to know what she's planning on doing, you need to ask her. We could only guess what she's thinking of doing to your hair.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

"Just long and straight" is my favorite look on most women. If you like braids and upsweeps, as I do, think carefully. Maybe you already have what you want, just part it different or add a little fringe for change sake. Good luck, and I hope you are happy with the result. Bob

no I can't stand it right now. i do nothing with it, it looks awful. i've never had a style in my life.
i don't really so much to say what she does with it.. aside from mullets, i'm pretty open minded to what she will do, and i like the thrill of putting my head in someone else's hands.
i just have to wait for a few weeks before my appointment and i get anxious, so it would help to have a picture in my mind just to ruminate over.. even if that's not at all what it will come out like, it just gives me something to focus my mental energy on.
anyway.. i'm pretty sure she was talking about an a-line bob.. i bought some haircut magazines, and the only cut that really matches what she described is a longish a-line bob that's maybe chin length in the back and almost shoulder length at the longest point in front. i was just curious to find out if other people thought that matches the limited description i posted above.
