I just joined the swim team at my school, and the pool we use has A LOT OF CHORLINE in it. My hair is horrible. Its dry and tangly and it hurts to run my hands through it, and the ends are frizzy and dry. Before i started swimming i had fine, soft hair, with no problems really (except making it thicker, which b/c of the frizziness it is...and i badly wish it were fine and soft again) I've never had a problem with chlorine in the summer, i just think its the amt they use in the pool When i get out of the pool my hair is literally a stick. I put my hair in a pony tail and by the end of practice i could slap someone in the face and probably knock them out (thats how much chlorine they use) and i also think weather is takin a toll on my hair too. I've used herbal essence intense conditioner, triple moisture conditioner, and KMS leave- in...the KMS seems to make my hair harder. WHAT PRODUCTS WILL MAKE MY HAIR BACK TO NORMAL AND THEN SOME?!! I'm dying. You know how they say you dont know what you got until its gone...well i know what they mean now :-(

OH and right now im using John Frieda Smooth Start in the purple bottle for dry thick course hair...and my hair isnt thick...but its still not working!!!!!!!!!! Anything that will fix my current hair problem at a reasonable price and won't weigh my hair down (fine hair!!) Preferably anything at wal-mart. oh and ive used 3 Min. Miracle...it gave my hair a hard soft feel if that makes any sense.

What I would do is waterproof my hair by dampening it thoroughly with warm coconut oil every time I'm about to go in the pool. It should be a little oily looking, but not wet or greasy. Then, wash it out with (believe it or not) hot water and two changes of Suave Daily Clarifying Conditioner, which works better than shampoo at removing coconut oil.
Actually, if you have curly or wavy hair the small amount of coconut oil will look like you've intentionally put some kind of product in your hair to bring out the waves. You don't have to wash it out right away if you don't want to. Coconut oil is good for your hair and won't stain your pillowcase.

If it's a super walmart, you can get it in the vegetable oil section.
