She's known for her long, red hair - among other things.  Anyway, her husband, Dennis, lost his congressional seat today and she made a rare appearance during his concession speech looking much different.

Well, no wonder he lost. Bummer.

Not to repeat what I said on another board, but I have to admit that even though she looks amazing with her new length and it is one of my favorite lengths for hair to be (short enoughto swing around freely, long enough to swing...), I think I died a little inside. She did take a step from being an outside-the-box hottie political wife to being more fo a run-of-the-mill political wife style-wise.

She's still hot as all get out, mnd you, but her hair had been mind-blowingly gorgeous. Now it's just gorgeous (which, I guess, is like losing degrees of a black belt or something).

I'll be controversial and say I think it looks better now. It just looked like a mess before--and now, at least she has a style.

Her haircut now looks like a political consultant designed the style...she looks more like an intern than his wife.

I agree with you totally. This cut wasted her incredible red locks for no obvious aesthetic reason. Probably some dense image consultant recommended this for her husband's tough race.
We have a local wife (about 50) of a politician who had the most amazing, uncolored one-length LONG natural light blonde hair you've ever seen, and about a year ago she went the "professional bob" route, only with thick bangs. Just a shame.

I'm with fatmoogas. It's an attractive length, you can focus on her face now, she looks more polished, and when it was long, it just hung there with no style. Though it looks darker now, and I did like the lighter red.

Long, straight and no layers IS probably my favorite *style*. It's a killer in any color, but especially red or light blonde!! It doesn't just "hang there", in my eyes, but has plenty of movement when a woman walks, or when a breeze kicks in. It's a WOW every time.

I don't think the question is whether the long hair looks better than the short hair or visa versa....I think the better question is "how in the world did Dennis get Elizabeth"?  OK, I admit, that was kind of mean but kind of true also.

As I recall, he actually had a "find me a wife" public contest around the time of the 2008 primaries, and she won. Seriously.

Amazing what money will buy... I'm a short hair fan not a mid length fan... I like the long hair better in this case.

Curlyfan, I'm not sure if you're joking, but that's not even remotely accurate. No contest, they met through work, and they married in 2005.

I'm fine with the shoter cut, just wish she'd publicized it since she is a public figure, maybe a video or a few pictures. She certainly cut off enough to donate it, would have been a good opportunity for positive PR.

He wasn't joking, but it's not remotely inaccurate, either...

Kucinich did have a weird "Find a wife" thing going on at one point -- I think it was a 2004 campaign trick. Nothing came of that search, though. Later on, Elizabeth was in his office with a colleague for business and saw a few eastern religion statues and poems and that's when sparks flew.

So I've no doubt the attraction is legitimate, yet it's reasonable to see why people might have a little fun at the guy's expense.

Back to her hair: If I had only seen Mrs. Kucinich with short hair, I would have said she looked amazing. But alas, I saw her first with long hair. End of story for me.

My apologies, I did vaguely remember the contest but apparently she came later. Thanks for clarifying Klaatu48.

No big news on this front, but she showed off a curly look on June 7th that is almost enough to keep me from completely cursing the loss of her long red hair. I'm in the outskirts of Kramer's camp -- Had I only seen her with short hair, I'd think she couldn't get any better looking. But since I saw her with it long... (Not that she isn't completely hot either way.)

Of course, she is a lovely woman, but I think that all women look nice with shoulder-length *styled* hair. For me, her chop is still a big downgrade from her formerly glorious hair. No cursing on this end, just stomach sinking.

I'm on my mobile and so don't have the ability to post a pic, butI saw a quick shot of Mrs. kucinich at the Oscars and iI'm back to lamenting to loss of her gorgeous hair. She looks like a 30 year old woman who wants to appear yo be in her mid-40s. Kind of a shame.

Kramer -- Please don't click that link.

I stand by my last comment -- While still quite beautiful, it looks like she's trying to make herself seem older than she is. And maybe that's something she feels she has to do to be taken seriously in her work, but... man. It's like watching Barry Sanders or Jim Brown retire before his time.

Klaatu48, you know I just had to look, just like I looked at a car wreck I passed on the freeway today. I lost that loving feeling awhile ago. A shame.

For nostalgia's sake I clucked on the original Getty link in this thread -- it looks like, as of March, she's revisiting the bob style. I certainly wouldn't mind a complete grow out, but maybe in the name of compromise we can agree on the June 2012 look?

What? My opinion doesn't actually factor into it? *sigh* fine. But I'm going to keep hoping...

(To clarify -- the video recently linked to was posted in Fall '13)
