hi,

i tried to lighten my friends hair, her natural root color is a medium brown and the ends a little lighter from previous dyeing 6 months ago, she wants it super blond so i mixed goldwell 10N with 9% then put a plastic cap on and left it for 40mis becuase her hair is very course and thick. the roots went light but her ends didnt get as light.

is it because of the cap?

or because she had dyed it before?

what should we do?

what if i mix 10N with 12% and add a little bit of bleach powder?

The roots are lighter because of the heat generated by the scalp. You will need to relighten the rest of the hair shaft but definitely not the roots.

If she had dye on the hair from 6 months ago then that would cause it as well. Not much you can really do about it now until the previously dyed hair has grown out.

With hair that has been dyed you first need to use a color remover like colorfix first, then bleach but it's too late to do that now.
