I am at my wits end! My hair is always so dry and I have millions of split ends. I just got back from getting 3 inches cut off my hair, and I still see split ends. Some hair has split 3 or 4 times, up the shaft. HORRORS!
I only shampoo every other day; I do NOT use curling irons or flattening irons. I wash, condition, and then let my hair air dry. In fact, the only times I use a blow dryer is on Sundays, to get it dry in time for church. I only use a large tooth comb on my hair, with the exception of Sundays when I blow dry (mostly cool air) then I will use a vented round brush.
I am type 2 diabetic on orals. Could this affect my hair to this extreme? Split ends galore!
As of a month ago I started using K-Pak on my hair, but haven't noticed much of a difference if any.
Is there anything I can do to combat this conditon?
------------- Heaven is real; don't myth it.

Oh! Sorry to hear it! I don't know about the diabetes, but I do know that my hair would often be in that same condition. Yes, even after a cut! Maybe the key is moisture, and I am sure a lot of people in here can advise as to which products are best. My hair improved when I began taking a multivitamin regularly. I also began using Pantene. I too only wash every other day, air dry, vent brush. I use a boar's bristle brush when dry. The last time my hair was long, it wasn't near as frazzled and split up as it had been previously.
I hope you find a solution to those split ends. Keep us posted!

yes, chances are it is from medical reasons...maybe even some stress. Both those things can radically change your hair... Try to use conditioners packed with proteins, and I would suggest using a silk reconstructor serum(CHI silk infusion is really good) on your ends, it should help it a bit, and atleast make it LOOK better. also--another big help would be to TRIM TRIM TRIM your hair as much as possible!
