I have two nine year old girls and they are wanting to get perms but I am wondering if it would be safe to do it (professionally of course). Are there products that are safe to use that won't damage there hair? Any help would be appreciated!

It's not so much that the chemicals will harm them (they won't) or damage their hair (it might, but it'll grow back). The problem is styling. Girls that age don't spend the time styling their hair and otherwise caring for it that perms demand. So unless you find a perm that requires little or no styling, you're going to be doing all the hair care, and between, or when you haven't gotten to it, their hair is going to look uncared-for.
So it should be up to you, not them, as you're going to be doing all the work.

perming will cause damage to your daughters hair, but I don't think that their hair is the thing that you should worry the most about is that all the chemicals will get on their scalp and some will be asorbed into their blood.
I don't think kids should be exposed to all those chemicals, why not just use some hot curlers or something and let them try curly hair temporary.

I took my daughter to a salon for a perm when she was younger for a perm with a 'gentle' solution. I wanted her to have cute curls for my 2nd wedding. I destroyed her pretty hair. It looked great for a few days but then it was tangle and messy and dry and damaged. It looked more like an adults hair. Not shiney and healthy like kids hair. And since her hair was 'virgin' it took FOREVER for the perm to relax and grow out.
Id seriously reconsider!
