hello, i want my hair to look like this

i heard that i needed my hair to be layered and trimmed from my friend. i wanna know what do you guys/girls think?

also i always have to wear a hat in order to make my hair flatter
because if i don't it will puff up and make my hair look dumb :p and if i
layered my hair and trimmed it, will it make it flatter if not how do i
make it not puffy anymore without wearing a hat 24/7. Thank you! (i
really want my hair to look like in that pic really really really really
bad and will pay to go to a expensive hair salon person)

Well a little layer wouldn't hurt but from what I see in the pic of the style you want His hair was washed blow dried possible straighten (depends on his hair texture) and has a little hair sculpting gel in it. You have naturally wavy/ curly hair I'm guessing. Have you tried straightening it out a little to make it less in your words poofed? I think you have natural volume in your hair. I would try a round brush and a little sculpting get its like a cream in a jar not the tube you squeeze out. Experiment a little and try just applying the gel to your towel dried hair and leaving it. Now for the record when applying the sculpting gel just a little goes a long ways. Rub a small amount on your hands all over then kind of just lightly touch all over your hair wet or dry it will help keep it in place and not poof.
