I just recently dyed my hair for the first time. It came out and everything, but I guess I just prefer natural over dyed. I wanna go back to my natural color. I'm posting a picture of it. And I'm pretty sure most you will say its black, but I don't wannna make the mistake of dying it black and my roots growing out lighter. I think its a really dark/ almost black color.
this is my hair

i'm on the right (i know weird right? lol)
could anyone name an exact product i could get a walmart or something that would be the almost the exact or similiar color to my hair?
Thanks

What color did you dye it? I would say get a very dark brown that looks almost black (because you don't want blue black) but depending on how light you dyed your hair, you could get unpredictable results just picking up something from walmart.

i have dark hair and went through various phases of attempting to dy it back to my natrual color.
Based on my expreiences i have noticed the following: picking the shade i ideally want was always too dark and would appear a deep black even though in a bright light, you see it is not.
Picking a shade with anything gold/redish/coppery in it would create these dark magenta shades.
The one time i got it right i dyed my hair 1 shade lighter then what i believed to be my natrual color. It turned out about 1 shade darker then faded.
My basic point is its guess and check ... if you want to do it only once i suggest doing strands of hair.
Or you can get a color correction at the salon. \

My sister dyed her hair with highlights a few years ago and didn't like the color either and dyed it back to her natural color at a salon and it didn't cover it all up. But my friend had really harsh bright blonde highlights in her black hair and dyed it with something from Walmart and it covered it up and it was completely gone. Why is this? this is why i just wanna do it at home.
If i were to dye my hair a soft black...do you think when my roots grow in there will be much of a difference in my natural hair color and my dyed hair? i just want opinions i know nothing can be exact with color.

It is good advice to choose a shade slightly lighter than your natural shade because it will probably come out darker, then fade a little...just do a test strand on a hidden piece of hair to make sure nothing will go wrong.

try loreal casting colours/semi perm dye in dark brown shade. semi perm are gentler that perm since you already dyed your hair, you hair is dry a bit and maybe porous. so just stick to semi perm if you want to darken it.

i talked to a color consultant from clairol (yea im THAT scared to go to black) and she said to mix a the 120 natural brown with a 122 natural black (nice and easy) and it would come out natural looking? has anyone tried mixing colors and did it come out good?
and would you recommend nice and easy or natural instinct for the color that i want to attempt to get? I heard that Natural instinct kind leaves some color on your towel each time you wash your hair.

It doesn't look black to me in the pics, but more like a deep chocolate brown. So I wouldn't mix black in, but just pick a pretty shade of dark brown. Natural Instincts is probably a good idea, as it's less likely to leave a harsh root line, and it shouldn't come off on the towel every time (or it never has for me, anyway). If you have a problem with that brand fading too quickly, you could change to a permanent, but it's probably better to start with the semi-perm first.
