According to an Allure Magazine article by Jennifer Klein in October 2002 of the 36% of American women who color their hair at home, only 17 percent go blonde.
According to the same article, which was 10 years ago, the women in New York and California preferred brunette shades to blonde but women in Maine and Virginia were more likely to go fair haired than other states.
A list of the best selling hair colors from 2002 were provided in the article and included:
1. Clairol Herbal Essence True Intense Color in Spicy Ginger
2. L'Oreal Feria Multi-Faceted Shimmering Colour in Cashmere Blonde
3. Revlon High Dimension Coloir in Medium Blonde-Luscious
4. L'Oreal Super Preference Long-Lasting Color in Medium Brown
5. Garnier Lumia Brighterning Color Cream in Maple Blossom
That was 10 years ago before the Big Recession of 2007. Is the hair color information from 2002 still true for October of 2012?
Are these brands and colors still available 10 years later? It would be interesting to check. All good questions. What do you think?
