I heard that red hair color fades the fastest. Is there a particular color of red that fades the fastest? Or does all red fade equally fast?

The reason why red color fades so fast is because the red color molecules are so tiny that they seep out of the hair pores really easy.
There are a lot of special shampoos designed for red hair (just as there are purple shampoos for blondes) which helps, also not washing the hair too often.

The condition of the hair is also important, really pouros hair don't hold color well (goes for all dyes). So for refreshing the ends always use a gentle demipermanent color (to retain the the quality of the hair) and permanent color on the root area only.

A high quality color in general holds the red color much better, much thanks to that it may not damage the hair as much as lower quality hair color with loads of ammonia do.
