i am obsessed..obviously. Im experienceing the world with mid back lenght hair for the first time in several years. Observations:
1. Some people noticed that my hair went from past my bottem to mid back and they loved the change. Other people, even close to me people who see me every day, didnt notice at all!!! Not at all. amazeing.
2. Others still concider it long even if I dont. Its still longer than alot of people.
3. Its more fun to play with and toss and touch although i think if i cut it to my waist it would be just as fun.
4. I can see the small of my back! how nice.
5. i can leave it down more often even at work yea!!!
its still long...okay no ones going to call me rapunzel for a while but its nice to not have everyone mention how long my hair is all the time.

Okay, and now Im slightly depressed that my hair isnt at my waist at least...but it will grow back. i might as well enjoy having cute bouncy ponytails instead of long heavy tails...plus when I do curl my hair the curls will be full and stay in.
When my hair reached past my tail bone I started feeling like I had a tail, like a long horse tail. Does that sound weird? so at least now i dont feel like Ive grown a tail.

Erinlynn, it sounds like you're ready to have waist-length hair... now. How fast does it grow and how far away from waist-length is it? Since you've had it that long (and beyond), I'm sure you'll get there again.

Hi Dave,
Well Im not sure how fast it grows. I never measured its growth before, but its fast enough that I dont worry about reaching long lenghts. Im going to pay more attention this time to how long it gets each month.
My hair was getting close to knee lenght...it was a bit longer than as far as my fingertips could reach with out stretching.
Now my hair is 25.5 inches long and is just below my bra strap...I think my waist is about 6 or so inches from that...less than a hands lenght...but Im not useing a ruler its just an estimation.
I ought to thouroughly enjoy my "short" hair while I can since i will spend less of my time and life with shorter hair.
now is the time for me to audition for community plays and not hide its lenght.

ROTFLMAO again!
This guy is hilarious! It's best when you imagine him talking in a Beavis-like voice. What a funny troll. Too bad we'll probably have to block him, huh?

Hi Erinlynn, thanks for sharing your photo with us! Your hair is very nice. And you look happy!
Our troll's device would need to be heightened to achieve his objective. heh heh You got it, SuperGrover... it's the Beavis voice. Of course, then what does Butthead say? "Shut up, Beavis." Butthead was never so wise as he is now.

Yes Im young, 25. Although age is relative and Ive no idea what age anyone else is here.
It is still short to me. All relative.
I actualy admire short cuts on others. But I just cant see myself in one unless it was that "cut it for a week and it magicaly grows all back at the end" senerio.
how old are you?

You don't look 25! But I'm 24, and people think I look younger. I went to a party once with my friend who is a very mature 17, and everyone guessed that she was older. It couldn't have been the hair though! She has waist length beautiful chestnut colored hair. Mine is only BSL.
But in general... Why do people with short hair look older? Maybe our long hair keeps us happy and gives us youthful exhuberance?
Erinlynn, is that a molted snake skin hanging from the bulletin board on the right??? Gross! I wish I were in Florida though. I love Florida.

Oh no, Im not offended at all =) As long as you dont think I sound immature I am happy...besides its not a bad thing for people to think you look younger than you are. Sometimes I feel no older than I was 15 years ago. In fact, I belive i read somewhere in here that someone looks the same in pictures from way back when. Well, my highschool photos look very much like todays...except Im a tad bit heavier.

SuperGrover,
yep its a snake skin. I found it one of the first days out in the feild when I started my job here...It was like a gift and good sign that this new job will go well =) I know that might sound silly. But anyways, I like snakes.
Now that Im swtiching jobs i wonder if I should take it with me or leave it here in the office. The last time i tried to keep a skin through a move it crumbled.
When I worked at the state park we had this old historical fort/spanish styled castle with a barred up basement. No one went in the basement! One day someone knocked the barracades over and opened up the door. I was surprized to find this and ended up takeing a few of the parks guests (whom had gone to all my nature programs that week) down to take a look. We found hanging from a ceiling pipe the larges molt Ive ever seen. that must have been some snake!
I expected the family to want to keep it but they insisted I use it in programs but with the condition that I keep it and not the park. We had several other smaller molts so that wasnt a problem...I ended up keeping it. Untill I moved and it was crushed.
Ah, i miss my salty home. Wakeing up crisp in the morning and tasteing the salt in the air (the park was on the ocean and a saltmarsh). Breathing in the fresh marsh smells (I may be nuts but I love it). Mmmmm. Squishy mud in my toes. Sandy waves at my feet. The sun mirrored. My hair tosseled and lifted by the ocean breeze.
AH! My mermaid hair is gone!
Oysters and oyster catchers with thier orange beaks. My lovely periwinkle snails. i love snails.
Where am i going? To work with birds...scrub jays!
I hope I am as passionate with upland species as I am with my wetland crowd.

I think itīs in the eyes of people the image they create... Now that I have been both long and short haired I see that itīs maby because many times when people get married, get families etc. etc. they tend to cut their hair short. So short hair IS considered more mature. And less intimidating. (you remember the song" get a haircut and get a real cut") And I can tell you the lenght of your hair determinates by far how people treat you! ...canīt wait to get my long hair back...

Hi Erinlynn,
All I can say is that you look absolutely amazing now, and I can only imagine what you looked like before when you were a rapunzel princess goddess!
Personally, I'd love to think that you will grow your hair back, but that is your choice entirely...it is your hair and you have to live with it.
Whatever you do, just make sure that it is what makes you the most happy, and none of us can have any complaints about that.
Best wishes,
John

Great picture of you in the snow. Was it terminal length at that point? Your current length of hair looks great. I'm just growing mine and learning how much work it takes to keep long hair. You obviously take very good care of yours. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I hope the new job is going well.

Take the snake skin with you!
Even though it's gross!!! Ew. I would recommend stopping by a florist shop and asking to buy a box like the kind they'd put roses in. They will probably give it to you for free, especially if you explain what you need it for!

Hi,
It wasnt at terminal lenght...I dont know what my terminal lenght is but the snow pictures dont even show my hair at its longest before I cut it. If genetics is any indication I know my aunts hair went to the floor. Maybe next time my hair is that long i'll continue to let it grow. But that was the problem. I was going to trim my hair around the time I took the snow pics but then didnt do it...then my hair got longer and I was constantly putting it up or else getting it caught in things...sigh.
As for the snake skin it went to a fellow coworker who is going to put it in his office =) Im happy about that since he gave me a fallen moth he found. I LOVE moths!

Hi Erinlynn!
Sorry for the late response... I hope you enjoyed the first week on your new job! Great photo of you in the snow... lovely! It must have been chilly in the scheherazade outfit.
p-b, I do remember the George Thorogood (sp?) song, "Get a haircut and get a real job" I first heard it in 1994 (I think, when the tune was newly-released) and at the time my hair was starting to get long, and coincidentally I was out of work. But it didn't deter me in my belief that I would find work without having to get a haircut.

I went through the same as you not long back, my haircut is just like yours. I loved the different feel of not having it on my thighs but still being really long. Having it cut felt lovely too. You look beautiful cos you're brave.
