I hope I can get some wisdom (I know you guys are full of it!)......I am at an impasse....I have tried deep condition, warm oil and jojoba. I only use Avalon (organic, no sls, etc) products, wash 2x a week and condition daily. No brushes (except boars hair on dry to distribute jojoba).

The problem is, I swim with my kids 2x or more a week in the pool. It has done a number on my hair and I can't seem to remedy it. Mind you, I also wet my hair and cover it with oil or conditioner before i go in the pool. I put it up in a pony and try not to stick my head under if I am just playing lifeguard.

What to do? I am not ready to go to a "CHOPDETOAD" (my new name for hairstylists!!) just kidding lillibeach, sophie, tony9999 and etc.

I have not had any growth to speak of (that is my next question)since my last measure in march. I am at 19" and it is now July!!!

If anyone can shed some rays on me - I would be greatful for any advice. I have done a bit ofresearch myself...but confirmations or new info would be great!!

Jacqui. Why don't you get a bathing cap to wear when swimming? People with longer hair than you have can wear bathing caps. I did when I had long hair. If need be, get a size larger than you need to tuck your hair under the bathing cap!

I hope that helps a little!

Jacqui

Maybe the sun is shedding too many rays on your hair....? Do you wear a hat? or bandanna? I wear both when I play golf and it makes a world of difference. That Florida sun will do a number on your skin and your hair if you don't cover it.

Let us know what you try and how it works. Good luck!

Thanks Dave. I will try Bandannas when I am out. It just seems like I am outside all of the time!!!
I will be known as the bandanna lady! Hats are tough as I can't seem wo get my hair at the bottom to be covered. Too thick to stick inside the hat.
I am going to look into a swim cap too.
