How did hairdressers from the 60s achieve this? As far as I know, flat irons weren't available then. The picture is Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys.

I don't know about flat irons, but if my hair were cut in that style, it would look just like that without doing anything else. He probably just naturally has hair type 1b (like mine, it is straight, but poofs a little more than 1a, which is very straight.)

| Everyone used blow dryers back then, which gave lots of height and volume. He probably did have thick and straight hair, too. Unless you have the same hair type, you'll have to come up with your own creative variation. |
