Glad to hear it. I've seen her do a little promo for her current film and thought "Now there's a girl with a bland, shapeless mass of hair who'd probably like to look more grown up and chic right now, hope she starts with a haircut."

Its a truly awful haircut. She seems to be a wonderful and beautiful girl who has a great attitude about it but I don't understand why they couldn't give her a look that had more style.

The girl in the book has horrible hair and never combs it. That partly explains it. At the VMAs, Shailene said she loves it and can't wait to cut it the way she wants once filming is done.

I'm a big fan of short hair but I just don't think she's found a way to wear it very well. Short hair needs to be more fun and for someone her age more edgy. |

Despise is too strong of a word... I'm apathetic about it. I've always been ambivalent about Shailene, but I think the shortest of her pixies at least made her interesting, made her stand out. Any other length seems to leave her as just one in a crowd.

| I don't buy the idea that her hair has to look shapeless as she grows it out. We've seen Anne Hathaway, Chyler Leigh, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence, Jaimie Alexander, and Malin Akerman all rock bobs as they grew their hair out. When you have access to top hairstylists any time you want there shouldn't be an awkward grow out phase. |

Wow, but you guys are harsh. As a layered, mid-length style, it isn't really that bad at all. And, if one is growing her hair out, it doesn't automatically go from bob to below shoulders. Seriously. Look it up. I'll wait. I think you are reacting more to the color, which is very dark, very flat, and doesn't give the style any depth at all. Maybe it's the lighting in the picture, but the color and her skin tone just aren't a great combo. Dark brown would have been fine, but black doesn't work. JF ------------- 3 pm is simultaneously too late and too early to start anything. |

Hollywood sets a high bar and IMO Shailene Woodley has never had an inclination towards Hollywood level beauty. She gets fixed up for magazines but clearly doesnt prioritize hair/makeup the way many other starlets do. I admire her for trying hard to make short hair work but she just didn't have any sense of edginess or cute styler with it. Back to long, healthy and simple is best for her. This is an untouched up, no makeup, sloppy pick. It just is what it is. |

I don't actively dislike it (I assume the black is for a movie role) but I really liked her short hair, especially the blonde, pushed-forward pixie version, and as I often am when cool short cuts grow out into more generic long styles (Ann Hathaway) I'm sorry to see it go. ------------- Your hair is your best accessory; wear it with STYLE! |
