hello!

i`ve posted these same questions on many other forums that this site provides...but, i`ve not yet found a reply that has satisfied me. so, i figured that i might as well go ahead and post again.

maybe, someone on this board can provide with the answers i am so desperately searching for. like i`ve said before on the other forums...my hair is naturally wavy/curly and a medium/dark brown color.

i had decided to try something different with my hair so i had someone color it jet black for me. well, then the next day i had this same person help me straighten my hair...well, it fried my hair.

my naturally wavy/curly, medium/dark brown hair was now a fried, black, straw-like substance. it was ruined! so, i knew that something must be done. so, i went to my hairstylist...and i told them to buzz it off.

so, they took like a number one or two guard...and when around my entire head. well, after they cut my hair -- i noticed a cross-like pattern in the hair on the top of my head -- now, it might have always been there...but, i had never noticed it -- or really paid attention to it...because, my hair had been longer...

but, it bothered me so bad...i decided to shave my head. well, when the hair started to grow back a little bit...i noticed that this cross-like pattern had re-appeared on the top of my head.

and, since then...i`ve tried to let it grow -- but, it just doesn`t seem right to me. i don`t know what it is...but, it just doesn`t seem right. do you think that i permanately damaged it?

will it ever come back right? i mean, i thought that any possible damage i could`ve done, would`ve been eliminated by having shaved my head, but, maybe i was mistaken? could having shaved my head actually caused more damage?

please...i know i may seem repetitive...and rather annoying...but, i am just terribly concerned about my hair. i mean, come on guys...if it were you -- you would be just as nervous as i am.

i am in desperate need of advice...and would like many person`s opinions...so, guys...please feel free to reply!

thank you,

ryan

Ryan - I would guess the cross pattern is there to stay and the only way to "get rid of it" so to speak is for your hair to grow long enough where you don`t have to worry about it. Or you can keep your head shaved.

You didn`t burn your hair beyond repair. Once it is shaved the new hair should be healthy.

Hey Ryan- I agree...I think that once your hair grows out some more it`ll return to what it used to look like before you did all that stuff to it. I don`t think that the over-processing hurt your scalp or anything...that`s usually a problem caused by health factors, etc, and not by what you do to your hair itself. Just hang in there, be patient, and it`ll grow back nice & normal.
Good luck to ya! :)
Love,
Ingrid
