I thought it would be fun to see everyone's long hair! Some people are in their avatars, but maybe others have pictures online that we haven't seen.

I would post mine but it's only a couple inches below my shoulders and not really long yet.

Hi Jenna! My hair is already in my avatar, so here's a different picture with me wearing it up:

I don't really want to post pics because of the risks that it can pose, but I want to so you can see my hair. It sounds daft, but I always think that people won't believe me if I say something on the Internet. How about if I see if I can find a piccy I can scan in (no digital camera yet) and then stick a yellow smiley face or something over my own face, to protect my identity.
That sounded too dramatic, didn't it.

One other thing. How do you post pictures? Every time I try, I get a pretty bow with a kiss in it.

Thank you Jenna and Lyris... my hair is really thick - mixed with fine and medium coarse. Somewhat dry due to dyeing my hair so much. I have dyed my hair 3 times in a month. 2 times within a week if I really hated the color. NOT GOOD!

Thanks to Lyris and to this board, I learned to take better care of my hair. I now use and addicted to All Soft by Redken!!! I love this product, I use the shampoo and conditioner and sometimes I will use the heavy cream wich I also love. I try to use jojoba oil once a week. I leave it on my hair overnight. I also used to take Ultra Nourishair.

I Blowdry my hair every morning (not good, I know I know) - I sometimes use a hair straightener to make it smooth like Amanda's. Otherwise, my hair looks just like in the pic... kinda tangled.

Lyris, you look so cute on your pic!
Amanda, your hair has grown so much since I last your pic.
Princess Monica, nice pics!
Gren, your hair is so long... is it hard to manage?
Jenna, you are very pretty! Just be patient and before you know it, your hair will be just as long as everyone's in this board.

Has anyone ever tried using the conditioner that comes with the hair color? I save them and use them from time to time, it makes my hair really soft! Some of them smells realy nice also. I wonder why they never package those to sell. They work better than regular conditioners I think.

Nope. Not at all. I wash once a week, I deep condition with Loreal Mega Moisture once every couple of weeks, I don't brush my hair at all. I use a Mason Pearson wide tooth comb to detangle (cuz I sleep with my hair down), and then an MP dressing comb with finer teeth to smooth and remove lint. I clarify with baking soda in my shampoo once a month or so. I sometimes use shine spray, if I'm going to wear my hair down.
I'm not a fanatic - it's just hair. Probably an unpopular viewpoint, but alas, my own.
Patience is the key to having long hair. Diet plays a huge part -EAT good natural food. I take MSM, Biotin and Horsetail as well as a multi.
I take extra C during the fall and winter - as preventative.

I have had very short hair and now, very long. I'll never go back to short hair.

Hi Jenna, GNC UltraNourishair is a supplement that has Biotin, Vit B, etc. Just to help you grow out healthy hair. I liked it at first, then I stopped using it. It was getting too expensive for me. LOL. All these things I put on my hair! =)

About my ethnicity... don't worry... just ask away!!! I am from the Philippines (Filipina). I am part Chinese and Spanish.

Thanks for the compliment about that new pic Princess, I made it dark... guess it's working!!! AHAHAHA.

It's Thursday!!! Whoohoo!

I used to use something from GNC, but I didn't notice a difference, and I got worried after hearing some people grew thicker body hair as well.
My aunt is Filipina, and she also has beautiful long hair like you. I don't really know her age (but she has an older teenage son and I'm thinking around 40), and she looks so youthful and pretty. I'm not sure if it's her hair length or nationality, but she looks like she could be in her late 20's!

I had concerns about that too but I didn't really notice if I grew more body hair or not. I noticed my hair was a lot stronger, meaning I had less shedding (shower, bed).

What nationality are you? You look young also and your hair looks healthy.

I guess I am pretty lucky to look so young. My dad's friend asked my dad one time why am I home on a school day. My dad was like, what school? and my dad's friend mentioned the HS a few blocks away. He thought I was still in HS! This was about a month ago. Must be the height!

Hmm maybe I should finish off that bottle of vitamins then! Actually I am only 18, so that might explain why I look younger. I'm half Jewish and half German (ironic combination), along I think a little French. How old are you, I honestly can't guess! What a nice compliment though. Hopefully he wasn't just trying to flirt with you. jk

Eww Jenna, he is really old! LOL.

You're 18? How lucky! LOL. I turned 29 last July. I think I can honestly say I am hitting midlife crisis, maybe that explains why I had changed my hair color so much!

You have a pretty interesting combination there. ehehe. I always called myself a mutt, I guess you are too. LOL. Just teasing.

Where in California? I am in the Los Angeles area.

Wow ladies your hair looks fabulous!! The kind any man would just love to reach out and touch. I know I would love to run a comb through those locks. Remember how beautiful you are. Do not let any jealous so called "friend" or "expert" talk you into cutting it off. Just remember for every rude remark there are dozens of people too shy to tell you how beatiful you look.

Here are pics of my hair if you follow the link. You might have to copy and paste the link. I'm shooting for the hairstyle in the second picture posted in the album. My hair is almost the same color as that except for the blond highlights I let my hairdresser talk me into. The highlights are slowly growing out though.

Yeah! Great pics everyone! I've enjoyed looking at them all.

Here's one I took September 7th. I was trying on pants at Macy's and looked over my shoulder to see if the pants hung open in back when I squated down and I thought my hair looked pretty, so I whipped out my cell phone cam and took a pic! Hooray for cell phone cams!! ♥♥

Too bad the camera focused on my hand! Oh well. I was already hogging the changing room. Didn't want to stay there forever until I got a perfect pic! LOL

Great pics and hair, everyone! Dave, your hair is awesome!!

My daughter just took these pics of me tonight:

I haven't been able to grow my hair past my shoulders for years now until I started taking the HairTopia Vitamins, but I still have a way to go before I get the length that many of you have. All of you are inspirations to me. :)

Edited (again) to say that tomorrow is touch up my roots day, so I'll have even color. My hair is naturally dark blonde, and I color it a lighter blonde. I'm using Open by Loreal this time instead of Preference or Excellence, so I'm hoping for a good outcome. I'm also trying to abstain from using a hairdryer on a warm setting, opting for cool or using rollers instead. I've learned quite a few things from you guys. :)
