I noticed an increase in hair shedding ever since I last dyed my hair three weeks ago. I've been dying my hair for the past three years without any problems and this time should have been no different. Is it quite certain that hair dye can cause hair to fall from the roots or should I look into other possibilities?HELP! - I just washed my hair and I cried when I saw what was left in the drain!

> I was just wondering if you straighten your hair as well because the place that I get my hair done, someone recently got fired. She got fired because she would put straighteners or relaxers (same thing) on people's hair and then later they would come back and she would dye it. They'd return again and they're hair is falling out from the roots. It depends on the time between the dying and maybe it has to do with how many times you've dyed it. I'm actually wondering the same thing cause I want to straighten my hair but I recently dyed it. My father thinks Ill lose my hair but I think other wise. I hope this helps you some.

Ever since I dyed my hair last September, it has been falling out. I am convinced that it is because of the dye but my doctor said that the dye just initiated any hair that would have occurred because of diet, stress, etc.

I just dyed my hair like 4 times within a weeks span because I wanted to get rid of an awful color job I did myself. It's fixed now, but my hair is super thin and falls out really easily. This has happened to me before because of bleaching/dyeing within a short time span. My advice to all those who dye their hair and experience thinning is to leave it alone for about 6 months or so. It eventually regains most thickness and gets healthy again.
