Hi!
I've recently bleached my hair (it was dyed red/orange before) and it still has some yellow in it, which didn't bother me before, but now I'm thinkink of dyeing it pastel blue... So I have to get rid of the yellow.

My hair looks like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/63ajb46qa2hd5sc/hair.jpg
And I want it like this:  http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/236x/c6/85/fb/c685fb63b49391f8ebd9ded8026f0a7e.jpg - http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/236x/c6/85/fb/c685fb63b49391f8ebd9ded8026f0a7e.jpg
And NOT like this:  http://www.leonbrant.com.au/media/catalog/product/cache/1//9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/v/i/virgin-snow.jpg - http://www.leonbrant.com.au/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/v/i/virgin-snow.jpg

I found this toner by manic panic  http://www.amazon.com/MANIC-PANIC-Semi-Permanent-Color-Virgin/dp/B001HNNSIU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401476206&sr=8-1&keywords=hair+toner - http://www.amazon.com/MANIC-PANIC-Semi-Permanent-Color-Virgin/dp/B001HNNSIU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401476206&sr=8-1&keywords=hair+toner , but I don't want my hair to go completely white. The question is, if I leave the toner for a smaller amount of time, will it work? Or maybe I have to bleach it some more? Or will it turn even more yellow?

Thank you!

Yes, a great Manic Panic toner for sure.  Depending on how bleached out your hair is, it will turn it snowy white.

Do a patch test on your hair.  Snip a few strands from the underneath and then test the color.

You can also email Manic Panic with questions.  They are very helpful.  The want to sell their products.

PS.  On the Manic Panic site it says:

VIRGIN SNOW™ is a white toner for bleached hair… meaning that it is specifically designed for use on hair that is already bleached to the lightest possible shade. Application of Virgin Snow™ will remove the yellow/red tones left after bleaching and will make your hair as white as AndyWarhol's!

VIRGIN SNOW™ can also be used as a mixer.

Looks all the examples of use with Virgin Snow as listed on MP website indicated the people who got the white hair first bleached with their MP Flashlightening bleach kit.

That is some powerful bleach.  It really works great.  However, make sure you still do a patch test.  If you hair is damaged from previous bleach or chemicals there are some reports of the MP Flashlightening causing breakage.

Please post here and let us know what you do and how it turns out so we know for future reference for anyone wanting to get rid of yellow.  :-)

And.......

MANIC PANIC® Hair Color is PPD FREE! Here’s how to perform a Patch Test:

  1. Select a small test area, about the size of a quarter, behind the ear or in the inner fold of the elbow.
  2. Wash the test area gently with a mild soap and water. Dab dry with a clean towel.
  3. Cover the clean test area with a thin coat of the specific shade of Manic Panic® Hair Color desired.
  4. Allow the test area to dry. Leave it uncovered and undisturbed for 24 hours.
  5. Examine the test area carefully. If there are any signs of irritation then under no circomestances should the product be used on the person tested.

Thank you for all your replies!

The problem is, when typing "manic panic virgin snow" on google image I see a large amount of various results, and some of them satisfy me, some don't...

(My hair isn't that damaged from bleaching, it's actually pretty strong and gets better everytime I apply conditioner, so there's no problem with that)

I will sure do a patch test IF i buy it, right now I'm not sure... I think I will first bleach it some more, and if it turns out too yellow I will try the toner but rinse it before the time indicated...

Or maybe there are other ways to lighten the hair without turning it too yellow nor going completely white?

Try this link

It takes you right to the Manic Panic shop where you can order.  You should be able to get it in France?  Yes?  If not, let me know.

Glad to hear your hair is not damaged from bleaching.

If you cut a few snippets and test, you may be able to bleach it some more but not have it go to yellow. Sometimes its all about timing and how long you leave the bleach on.

Hope that helps.  If not, hit me back and I will do more checking.

Thanks! Fortunately, we have manic panic in France (unlike a lot of other fabulous hair products...). I'm buying it, along with Crazy Color's Bubblegum blue and some bleach :D

EDIT: I just found Wella's color charm toner and it seems like exactly what I wanted:  http://www.sallybeauty.com/wella-hair-color/SBS-800275,default,pd. - http://www.sallybeauty.com/wella-hair-color/SBS-800275,default,pd.html . I bought this one!
