Hello,

I'm trying to see if it is feasible to do ombre on myself without the help of a professional. A little background:

Up until three weeks ago, had platinum blonde hair. In a quest for ombre, I went to a stylist and showed them this picture: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/127156389453669616/ and asked them to make my hair look like that. Instead, my hair came out an ashy light brown all over. So I went to another stylist a week later, and asked them to fix it. He just made my hair a darker (medium) brown all over save for a few chunky highlights that do not look good and are not ombre at all.

At this point, I can not afford to spend any more money at a salon. This hair nightmare has already cost me about $400. So basically I want to know:

1. Can I achieve the desired look myself? (here is the inspiration again: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/127156389453669616/)

2. How do you do ombre over dyed hair-- will the blonde parts turn orange over demi-permanent brown dye?

3. I want to make the rest of my hair darker too, not just do the blonde part. How do I do the darker brown dye and the lighter blonde parts at the same time?

4. What tools will I need to achieve this?

If anyone can help, I will be so grateful. Thanks!
