From what I've read, Braid Hook is an alternative to weaving.  Is it also considered braiding?

Hook creates a very unique natural puffy hair look from what I've seen.  Am I right?

A good friend of mine was looking for a bit of texture which is closest to their Afro hair.  That is why we both started to look into Hook.

My friend's stylist told them to use the Afro Kinky Bulk de Camella weave/wick.

So what type of weave/wick is best adapted to braided hook?

My friend's stylist advised the use of afro, curly, curly or wavy at the very least.

Supposedly this lasts the longest and the strands don't tend to slip as much with smoother wicks.

The stylist also recommended this type of lock for the volume because it hides the glued mats made to keep the hook.

What are some of the different brands of locks that you can buy to make a braid hook?

Some people suggest you can also buy a weave long enough and cut the woven part in order to make a crochet braid.
