I know compared to a lot of women on this board my hair is still very short, but it's long for me. I'm so excited because I've reached my first short-term goal of 20". My next goal is 22". I'm not sure how much longer after that. I guess I'll wait to see once my hair reaches that length and then decide.

Becky - Congrats!! Mine is 20" also, so i know how you feel. Long way to go if you want it really long!!

I am shooting for 26 and i feel like it is taking forever for my hair to grow.

Enjoy the first milestone.

Thanks everyone for the kudos! I'll have to see if I can get some pixs to post. I'll have to post front and back shots. Last time I posted I didn't have bangs and I do now. I'll try to have them to post tomorrow....

This seems like quite an apt place to add my own WHOO-HOO moment

I just found out that you don't measure from your parting, you use your hairline. Which makes my hair 40 inches long. I am very happy to discover that my hair grew eight inches in a few minutes

Becky, you've done so well so far. With all the advice from here your hair must be gorgeous! How long was it to start with? Keep with it - a little while longer and you'll have reached your next target before you know it

I got enought time to upload the picture to a website. Before anyone looks I need to say 2 very important things....

1 - I took these pictures myself, so the front shot isn't a good one. My arms just wern't long enough to make it look right. lol

2 - I'm not a photogenic person, so even if I wasn't the one who took the picture myself it still probablly wouldn't be great. I just always look better in person (or at least I think I do).

Ok, with those 2 points in mind here's the link:

Hey Becky - you're really pretty

...lovely skin, great bone structure, beautifully shaped eyes, rose-bud lips.......

It's hard to tell the quality of your hair but it seems in good condition and of a fine quality.

You are going to look absolutely stunning with long hair.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Uzi! That's really very sweet of you to say. I may try to get my husband to take better pixs of me tonight. If so, I'll replace those with the new ones (I think the face shot looks like a mug shot. )

My hair is in pretty good shape. It's fairly shiney, soft and silky feeling, very few splits. Overall I think it's in good health... esp. since I blow dry daily.

Becky - You are gorgeous...what are you talking about! I would kill for your skin! I am hispanic so I have skin that tans even in winter and have alway loved the china-doll like beauty of fair skin.

What type is your hair? Is it fine/medium?

Mine is really thick and though it is the same length as yours, it doesn't hang down as nicely. Thanks for sharing.

Becky, you look a lot like the beautiful actress I just saw in the movie "Love Actually". I'm sorry i don't know her name, but your eyes look just like hers, and she had long brown hair so I'm sure you'll look like her even more. She plays the assistant to Hugh Grant as the Prime Minister.

I could sit at the next table from you at a restaurant and never take my eyes off of you. Great hair. Don't go changin'.

Thank you guys!! You're all so sweet. I appreciate all the great comments and especially the wonderful advice I get on this board.

To answer your question Enfys... my hair was at a chin length bob that was inverted when I frist started. It would be longer now, but at one time I was growing out layers and would take a little length off from time-to-time. Funny thing is I have layers again. LOL. All that growing (and cutting) for nothing. Oh well, it does look better with some layering. It's relatively thin and hangs flat without layers.

Funny,

I thought everyone wants to be a nice tan complextion not china white...interesting to hear someone who like china doll skin.

Me too ErinLynn, especially in California where the really tan look is "in". Just one century ago it was considered fashionable and elite to be pale because it meant you weren't part of the working class. Now it's in fashion to be tan because it means you can afford tanning booths or the time to lie in the sun. In my opinion both are beautiful in their own way, but since I'm naturally light of course I always wish to be darker. Human nature I suppose.

Wow Uzi...Existential AND agnostic...let me see if anything can sound more depressing....hmmmm. Nope.

So you are in disbelief (agnostic) yet constantly questioning (existential)...must be stressful. Not like you to have sucha heavy sig. Not that I am in disagreement with any of your philosophies. I am a "spiritual" existentialist myself.

Decided I would take a break from the heavy ponderings and LIVE!!!

happy growing everyone.

Hi Jacqui

Paradox is a skipping rope.

I laugh as I jump high and ponder the heights as I descend to the ground, just seconds before I take off again.

But I do not care to imagine what lies beyond the jumping as it is only imagining and would cause me to mess up my rhythm and get the skipping rope all tangled up.

Jump!!

(Maybe I should add "zen" to the pot?)

Becky and enfys,

Am I too late to join the party? If not:

Woo hoo!

enfys, you get one such instantaneous 8-inch growth spurt, but that's it. No more from now on.

Of course, the Zen Uzi.....it is what keeps you focused on the simple, yet sublime act of jumping.

Hope you are ascending upward this monday....
