Whoever writes this stuff at people.com seems to 1) think every celeb hair change of any kind is Totally the Best Change Ever, and 2) needs a tutorial on how to label hair lengths. Isla didn't "chop off her hair" and she hasn't "gone short.' Her hair is still a few inches below her shoulders, firmly in the "long" zone. 

It seems like all she really did is take a few inches off the ends (and/or remove extensions), which could easily be explained as "regular maintenance plus a little more." Looks almost the same.

Buried toward the bottom is her stylist's comment that she not try a lob (thank merciful heaven!) and that he could see her going to a chin-length bob as a next step, which would be pretty interesting.

i agree looks basically the sames, except for the total length, same part, same color, same texture.

If it was an actual haircut, why aren't there any "action shots" of the actual cut? I'm with you about most of this, especially your theory that the extensions were removed.

She sure looks a young 40. Hair isn't bad at all,  liked the before better though..
