ok I'm sorry...I don't get this. What is the difference between a curling iron and a perm exactly? idk if the q is OT but....

a "Perm" permanently adds curl to hair whereas a curling iron adds curl temporarily. I thought perms had gone to the wayside years ago in favor of other methods that were less harsh on the hair but I guess they are making a comeback. I've seen several celebrities opt for this in the past few months.

it looks really good! (but when does Olivia Munn go wrong lol) I Don't get why perms have a bad rep...Olivia's look is on point. the beach tousled look is ageless!!!

If the perms are limited to beachy waves, rather than tight curls, I think I could deal with it. Olivia's looks really good, but others (looking at you, Emma Stone)... not so much.

I agree with Klaatu48...beachy waves good, tight perm curls...bad. Besides the damage the perms do to the hair
