I have been reading down on these posts and I noticed one thread that seemed to bother a lot of people about parents forcing their children to get haircuts. Personally, I beleive that it is wrong for a parent to force their child to get any certain haircut. I firmly beleive it should be up to the child how he/she wants their hair cut, with parental suggestions, of course. As long as kids and teenagers don't come home looking very strange or like a freak, I don't see the problem. I am a 15 year old, and my mom has been letting me cut my hair how I want ever since I can remember. The way I look at it is, if the only dissagreement parents and kids have is how to cut their hair, then count your blessings.

Hi Renee,I agree with you on this one - I reckon that people of all ages should be able to make their own choices (and mistakes) regarding their hair. I'm about to become a parent for the first time; I hope my views persist when It's my son/daughter .I think you hit the nail on the head with your qualifying statement "As long as kids and teenagers don't come home looking very strange or like a freak" - the thing with adults is that what they consider strange or freakish may be radically different to their parents, most of whom never really realised how sad those haircuts they chose in their youth really looked - let's face it did anybody really look good in a 'Farrah' shag cut besides her?
