Hi,How does everyone feel about short-haired actresses? Do you find they are more "seriously appreciated" than someone with long hair? One could say it's a moot point since Gweneth Paltrow won the Oscar, but she actually is wearing extensions, both on the movie "Shakespear In Love" and offscreen from what I've read. Put your thinking caps on!Holly

I actually don't think it makes any difference, since many actresses cut their hair or wear wigs for their roles anyway. The only time I think it has an impact is if the actress has unusually long or short hair naturally. Long hair is actually a bit more of an issue, since short haired actresses can wear wigs (e.g., Robin Tunney was bald after "Empire Records" and wore a wig in "The Craft"). Long haired actresses can wear wigs as well (e.g., Jane Seymour with bob wigs in various movies), so it really isn't that big a deal.I can, however, give one example where cutting long hair made a difference. Soap actress Fiona Hutchison (from "One Life to Live" and "Guiding Light") had beautiful waist-length hair for years. A couple of years ago, she cut it to shoulder-length. In an online chat back in 1997 (which you can read on a fan site here: http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Bungalow/5575/ - http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Bungalow/5575/ ), she addressed this:Question: I remember your long hair.. was it hard for you to cut it?Fiona Hutchison: No, it was very liberating and freeing. I've done many other projects because of cutting my hair. Long hair gives you a certain look which is lovely, but can be a hinderance. In other words, most of the time, producers are looking want a look that is attractive, but not distracting from the character or the story. So unless you consider shoulder-length to be "short", then I really don't think length (other than extremes) matters.Just my opinion,JerkyFleaRelated Link:JerkyFlea's Celebrity Hair Spray

I don't feel anything about actresses with short hair. It's their hair so let them do what they want.

I think Wynona Ryder lookswonderful with short hair, and Gweneth Paltrow looks better with long, or extensions and whatever. Notice Kate Winslet recently cut her hait VERY short? Ugh
