....can be a real pain sometimes, literally. So many clothing retailers put the security tag (those big plastic things) in the collar of shirts and such. Unfortunately, that means long hair often gets caught and torn in those things upon trying on the garment! If anyone here works in retail, please suggest moving these tags to another conspicuous yet hair-friendly location.
Does this irk anyone else?

Lyris, whenever I go out shopping for clothes, I tend to throw my hair up into a loose bun with a hair schruncie. It gets less tangled, or pulled.
I do have to agree with you though...

I've learned to put my hair up before pulling anything over my head, alas. My hair gets caught in everything, even between the threads of loose-knit sweaters.

I STILL get my hair knarled in tags even with it in my customary shopping spree ponytail. The worst is when it's a tight turtleneck and the tag is right there in the neck. This gives rise to a whole slew of colorful phrases and metaphors.

Hi Lyris,
You are right. It's a problem with long hair. I prefer shopping with braids.

You're right, this is a pain. Turtlenecks are especially bad.
I find the loose ponytail the best way to go, at least it can be easily fixed. Loose is just too dangerous with buttons and tags, and any kind of "up" style just gets pulled down.
One thing I try to do is wear a button-down shirt when I go shopping, at least what I came to the store in won't be part of the problem then.

I pretty much hate shopping. Running into the occasional longhaired beauty makes it much less tedious. : )
