I have very thick hair that grows in many different directions (up, back, sideways) and is fairly wavy. Despite this, many girls tell me they want my hair (is that a good thing).. I guess they just want thick wavy hair, i dunno.

Every time I go have my hair cut, they give me the same cut.. no matter who cuts it, they all seem to naturally pick this one cut (short on the sides, back.. a level of 3 on the trimmers if they use them.. parted on the right, a couple of inches long on the top). I am sick of that haircut.

In high school, while on the swim team, somehow I went many months without a hair cut. I could pull my hair forward and get some into my mouth. It wouldn`t bother me to have it that long, it would stay out of my face. But at the end of the season I got a job that required a neat cut, so i went back to the normal cut.

When I went to college, I would simply not bother to cut my hair during the semester.. so it would grow for a few months, then my mom would make me cut it (she was paying for tuition). Then last year I made a bet with a friend that I wouldnt cut my hair if he didnt shave his porkchop sideburns. I only had to make it till the summer, at which point I cut my hair again, since I couldn`t think of a what to do with it.

Again, I am back at that point. I last cut my hair 4 months ago, and my hair can go into my mouth. It`s looking real scraggly.. and I dont like the hair in the lower back of my head (near my neck) to stick out sideways.

I`m roughly 6 weeks from being able to tie my hair back.. but I need some styling.. I graduate from college next month and want to be mildly presentable.

My hair is much like Hugh Grant`s.. and right now I have wings but I am guessing if i let my hair grow, it will completel the curl and point down. When I wear my hat backwards, its a struggle to tuck my hair behind my ear.. its too wavy and thick..

So what do I do? I don`t know what to tell the stylist when I go in. I am thinking that leaving my part on the right is beginning to look pretty stupid with my hair as long as it is.. but i dont know if i can part my hair any other way.

There is not much available online in terms of men`s hair style photos.. even less for long hair, and virtually nothing for long wavy thick hair.
