          | Most of my life, I`ve had relatively short hair -- around the 1" mark at the longest. I`ve been in the process of growing it out to try something different, but the problem is that my hair is absurdly thick. That, coupled with little or no hair styling experience because of the past close cropped hairstyle.
Are there any styles that could work during those evil middle-ground periods while it`s still growing out? At the moment, the top is around 2.5 inches long, and the sides something closer to 1 or 1.5 inches. It looks possitively hillarious no matter what I do, so I`m considering going back to something short just to look presentable again.

I`m still not entirely sure what look I`m going for, but wanted to try long hair while I`ve still got it. Any recommendations?

          | I`m pretty much where youa re now also. Go to a stylist and have her texture the hell out of your hair. Different lengths, etc, and will remove a lot of the extra bulk which will make it lay nicer. Get some sort of styling wax like american crew fibre and just play with it. You`ll come up with something you ll like.
