My hair is just a few inches above the waist and black and I was thinking of getting long side bangs. Ehat do u think? Also, does neone have any pictures of this look?

I kindof sounds anime ish to me...it might look good depending on how they lay and your face shape. My friend has bangs like this and she looks very good in them. |

That's how my hair is. My bangs are shoulder length and the rest of my hair is tailbone length. I've had it this way for years and I love it. Sorry, I don't have a picture though. Im not sure whether i should gets lots of layers all over with the bangs or just a few front layers and long side bangs. Also my face is round....or slightly heart shaped. (i cant figure out which!) lol |

That could look really good, but if it were me I'd probably go to a stylist to make sure they were cut in a flattering way. Make sure it's someone you trust, because there are so many horror stories about bad stylists here. I found this beautiful picture of Angelina Jolie with her long hair and bangs. I have long hair, and I have bangs. They are short enough to be curled with a big 1 1/2" curling iron. I've gone from bangs, to no bangs (they were chin length) back to bangs. I like it better bangs. As for layers and such, they're nice but I hope that you don't regret them later on. I've had layers around my face for a while, and they're getting all cut off on Friday. Infact, I'm probably goign to go shorter than I originally thought, as I wasn't exactly looking at the back of my hair correctly. I would think about it for a while before doing it, as you know, it can't be fixed! ------------- |

I already have layers right now all over. My hair is pretty much waist length and I have a deep U shape, the shortest layers coming to my shoulders. Im just not sure if i want a basic trim with a few front layers and bangs OR layers all over like before with bangs. |

i used to have bangs. theyre growing out to my chin now. but they were layered from the bangs to the ends so it makes a nice transition as it grows out. i keep contemplating bringing them back before my large white forhead eats my entire face. i dont feel like screweing with them though. ------------- BSL/Blonde/Chemically Treated (abused) 1b/cMii I swear by Redken Extreme and Shea Butter. |

How long would the bangs be? Chin length? shoulder length? Just be aware that they may be a while to grow out. I had various layers of bangs when my hair was shoulder length. But now, I'm letting it all grow out. ------------- |
