I have spent my life trying to beat the battle with my curls and I finally think that I have a good plan!!! As my new years resolution I promised myself to let my hair grow out!!! I have very fast growing hair that usually grows about 2 in every 3 months!!! I am planning on letting it grow from just past my shoulders to about half way down my back, die it blonde and have a waze pem done to activate my curls and take down some of the frizz!!! I am hoping to get hair thats like shakira's when it is curly!!! If anyone else has done anything like this before, has any info on growning hair out, or wave perms for culy hair or just has something to add please post!!!!

I really would advice against dying and perming your hair, because you are going to experience so much damage. I'm not sure a good stylist would even agree to do both for you. I think it would be really pretty if you did blonde highlights instead, so you won't get any obvious roots every month. I'm sure you could also find many hair products that could smooth and calm down your hair without damaging it like a perm. Good luck with your decision, and I bet your hair is going to look very beautiful when it's long and curly.

Hi Rose,

I basically agree with Jenna. I don't understand why you'd want a perm in your "battle" with your curls. But I do think you are on the "right" path to calm them by growing longer. Consider also washing your hair less often than you do now to allow the natural wax (sebum) to help coat and smooth the frizz.
