Amino acids are obviously one important food-stuff for hair growers. I have heard that in soy there are all the necessary amino acids. Thatīs very good but does soy include proteins/amino acids enough? Would some other way to get amino acids be better?

Hi Helen,

Amino acids = "protein." I suggest including a variety of protein sources in your diet. Doing so is more readily accomplished if you are a meat eater. (Vegetarians and vegans need to be very careful to get enough, and the right kind of, protein.) Of all of the amino acids, only a few are considered essential, meaning that the body cannot synthesize them from other basic food sources.

It's my understanding that soy is a very good source of protein. Fish, chicken eggs, nuts and legumes, and lean chicken and beef are also very good sources of protein.

Happy hair growing, and bon appetit.
